Cheryl is a registered Speech Therapist under the Singapore Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC).
She has previously worked as a Special Educational Needs Officer (SENO) in a mainstream secondary school as well as a Speech and Language Therapist in multiple settings (special school and private clinic). She has provided intervention for children and adolescents with special needs between 2 and 21 years of age with a range of presentations, such as: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disability (ID), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), mild cerebral palsy, dyslexia, speech and language disorders.
Cheryl has a keen interest in supporting clients who are non-verbal and minimally verbal using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to express themselves. Cheryl also enjoys working with children and their families in terms of picky eating.
She is committed to providing individualised intervention in an enjoyable manner and strongly believes that clients learn best when they are having fun. She is also passionate about working with families and other professionals to support every child holistically and to help each of her client achieve his/her greatest potential.
Cheryl brings previous experiences from her prior roles in age-care facilities and community clinics where she provided comprehensive support to adult clients with diverse medical needs, specifically in the domains of aphasia, dysarthria, and dysphagia. In addition to this, Cheryl has demonstrated her dedication to inclusive care by assisting transgender clients in their voice feminization journey, delivering personalized guidance through both one-on-one consultations and group settings.
Cheryl is fluent in English and Mandarin.
During her free time, Cheryl enjoys cafe-hopping, cooking, practicing yoga and swimming.
