Wei Ning has more than 4 years of experience working with individuals with special needs as a teacher in an early intervention centre, and an associate psychologist in a special education school.
She has provided both individual and group intervention to individuals between the ages of 2 and 21 diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Global Developmental Delay (GDD), Mild Intellectual Disability (MID), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), speech and language delay, and other disabilities.
At the core of Wei Ning's practice is a deep commitment to empowering every child to reach their fullest potential. She believes in leveraging each child's strengths and interests to craft engaging and meaningful intervention plans. Moreover, Wei Ning places a strong emphasis on collaboration with families, recognizing their pivotal role in fostering a child's independent learning and living skills.
Wei Ning's expertise extends to social skills development, which she views as integral to a child's holistic growth. She is adept at conducting social skills group sessions using the Social Thinking framework, tailored to different age groups. Additionally, she is experienced in planning and executing comprehensive lesson plans for children aged 2 to 7, as well as delivering behavioural intervention and counselling sessions for individuals aged 7 to 21. She has also collaborated with various stakeholders including teachers, parents, therapists, and external organisations, as well as led preschool collaboration meetings to support her student’s learning in the mainstream curriculum.
In her free time, Wei Ning enjoys cafe-hopping, singing, and travelling.
